Samsung has developed some new DDR4 memory, using significantly less power - a slated 40% less - during read and write operations than our current DDR3 stuff.
Obvious use case here will be for netbooks, laptops and mobiles - even always-on HTPC type devices. However I suspect that it will soon make its way into our desktops, after all, it has a higher number next to it and who wouldn't pay £150 for that privilege?
