Review - HTC Desire

So I have had this device for probably a month or so now, it is my first fully fledged Android device, I did a bit of dabbling with a few android ports for a WinMo device, but thats another story that I may treat you to some other time.

Head on past the break for the full review.
Hardware
Externally this thing may not be as good looking as the gorgeous legend, but internally this is a whole different beast, with a 1GHz snap dragon processor its hard to outwit this device and trust me I have tried! It seems as if no matter how much multi-tasking you ask this device to do, it will always be begging for more. One thing a lot of people do complain about is the amount of onboard memory available to the device, this is currently used to store every app you download. Fortunately the Android team have decided to enable us all to install certain apps to our SD card. The camera is also of a reasonable 5MP which is more than enough for most of this stuff we need such as quick snaps for social networking sites.

Software
Android in my honest opinion is by far the most superior mobile Operating System around, with the nicest home screen around which enables you to add widgets and effortlessly update all of your social networking feeds and view them all in a quick swipe, it is the perfect phone for anyone who want to knock smiles off the face of iPhone lovers everywhere. With the Android market nearly matching Apple's App Store, and with the freedom on the Android market to post nearly any app you want, this is going to be a very compelling OS to start developing for, with the devices running android only getting more and more powerfully it enables developers to create much more power hungry apps than for the iPhone.

Final points
This may not be the phone that makes all the iPhone users want to switch to Android, but it certainly seems to have grabbed a fair few, I know I have certainly managed to temp alot of dumbphone users into switching up for a smartphone running Android by waving it about. of course my device is rooted, I wouldn't be a true geek if I didn't root it, but I made sure I didn't include anything here that you wouldn't get as standard.
